Genesis Professional Wrestling
Debut Show
30th Novemeber 2019

On a cold Saturday night in Kent, at the Snodland Community Centre, an almost sold-out crowd watched Genesis Professional Wrestling make their debut, with an 8 man tournament to determine the first-ever Genesis Professional Wrestling World Champion.

8 men were hand-selected by Gen Pro Owner Jon Moores and Genesis Commissioner William West to participate in this tournament.

To begin the show Jon Moores explained that he and West would draw the matches by introducing the wrestler they had chosen to participate, giving the entrants no time to prepare for their opponent.
First Quater Final Bout - Chris Wyld vs Defrain.

The first match pitted Moores pick, Chris Wyld against West's pick, Defrain.

In a hard-fought bout, Wyld & Defrain battled back and forth exchanging hard strikes and powerful moves. It really could have gone either way, but at the end, Chris Wyld picked up the win via pinfall. However, Defrain was not done and allowing his frustrations to boil over, Defrain attacked Wyld after the bell hitting him with a series of Powerbombs and hooking him in a Boston crab submission hold until referee Matthew Howes stepped in to physically remove Defrain from the hold.

Defrain took exception to this and sucker-punched ref Howes for his efforts before making his way to the back. Ref Howes, a former wrestler himself, proceeded to challenge Jon to make this right by giving him a match against Defrain. That match will take place when we return to Snodland in the new year.

Winner by pinfall and advancing to the Semi-Finals - Chris Wyld.
Second Quater Final Bout - Edin vs The Damned.

Next up Moores announced his next pick and from the Gen Pro Academy and member of Enigmatic, Edin. Edin is one of many standouts from The Gen Pro Academy and would be making his Professional Wrestling singles match debut. West decided to put Edin against the masked monster known only as, The Damned.

This bout quickly became what you would expect, Edin's fast pace and athleticism, whilst impressive, was quickly neutralised by the Damned's experience and power. Even with his Enigmatic teammates at ringside, The Damned made short work of this one, with Edin needing assistance to the back following the match.

Winner by pinfall and advancing to the Semi-Finals - The Damned.
Third Quater Final Bout - Jack Toreno vs Leo Strong

For the next bout, Moores announced his pick to be the Athletic journeyman, The Drifter Jack Toreno going against West's pick and another Gen Pro Academy standout, Leo Strong.

Going into this match there was a clear size and strength advantage for Strong, against the speed, experience and athletic ability of Toreno. The smaller man really used this to his advantage hitting several fast-paced moves, springboards and high flying offence, but unfortunately for The Drifter, it was Strong's night to prevail as he hit a brutal Spear on his smaller opponent and secured his place in the next round of the tournament.

Winner by pinfall and advancing to the Semi-Finals - Leo Strong.
Fourth Quater Final Bout - Bully Briggs vs Cali Gray

Bout 4 and the last 2 men to go against each other are announced, as Moores final pick being the local lad, Big Bully Briggs, who was also accompanied to the ring by his brother Tommy. With West announcing the final participant of the 8 man tournmet, Cali Gray. West made it clear that he and Moores had disagreed about Briggs inclusion in the tournament, as West felt that Briggs had done nothing to earn his spot in recent months.

The match was underway and we saw a lot of action here, with both men clearly having a point to prove. Briggs, the bigger of the two men used his size and strength to his advantage. Bullying his opponent around the ring. Cali fired back and more than held his own against his bigger adversary, even with Tommy at ringside causing several distractions at times. In the end it was Briggs who was able to pick up the victory hitting his devastating TKO in the middle of the ring.

Winner by pinfall and advancing to the Semi-Finals - Big Bully Briggs.
Following the match Tommy jumped up into the ring to celebrate with his brother, grabbing the mic from our MC to rub Bully's win in the face of the Commissioner, West. A verbal battle between these two escalated when West slapped Tommy across the face. As Bully went to deck West, Moores stepped in to stop him, causing Bully to hit the owner in the face with a strong forearm. Still determined to avenge his brother Bully grabbed West upon his shoulders to hit his TKO, but William West's head of personal security, Ryan Hunter, was able to step in and make the save. Once more Moores grabbed hold of Bully only to be struck again with another forearm. This caused our owner to lose his temper and drop Bully with a DDT in the centre of the ring.

William West then announced that if Bully wanted to fight so badly, he could have his Semi Final match right now.......... against The Damned.

First Semi-Final Bout - Bully Briggs vs The Damned.

The Damned made his way down to the ring, Briggs barely conscious, swung a couple of weak punches in The Damned's direction before being dropped with a Gunslinger and pinned for the 3 counts. This match was over before it began.

Winner by pinfall and advancing to the Final - The Damned.
Second Semi-Final Bout - Chris Wyld vs Leo Strong.

After a brief intermission, we returned to the action and our other Semi-Final Match pitting Chris Wyld against Leo Strong.

Wyld was clearly still suffering the effects of the beat down after the Bell at the hands of Defrain earlier in the evening. Putting on a valiant effort here, the injuries sustained proved too much as the match wore on. With the action spilling to the outside of the ring Strong was able to return to the ring but unfortunately, Wyld could not answer the referees 10 count, meaning Leo Strong picked up the win.

Winner by count-out and advancing to the Final - Leo Strong
In a break from tournament action, we come to our Tag Team contest. This match had to be changed as one half of Tenacity, Andros Jay, suffered a broken leg just 3 weeks before the show. Enigmatic teammate, Dominic King, requested to relinquish his position in the Tournament to support his brother and teammates in the Tag match and we were back on...

Enigmatic (Dominic King & The Banshee Vikkie) vs J-Den Scarr and Furio.

Coming to the ring to support his teammates was Andros Jay. Before the action got underway, Cali Gray made his way down to the ring to say that he didn't believe Andros was really hurt and that this was just a ploy by the team to have a numbers advantage on the night. He has a good friendship with FSW regulars Furio and Scarr, and having seen the way management treat the talent here at Genesis, he was not willing to sit by and allow his friends to be mistreated so would stay at ringside to support his friends.

The action here was fast and furious as the FSW stars were quick to isolate Dominic King and looked to have him beaten several times in the match. King, however, rallied and was able to tag in his partner, The Banshee Vickie. Unfortunately, the experience and cunning of the FSW team proved too much for the Enigmatic duo and King fell to the veterans losing the match by pinfall.

Winner by pinfall - J-Den Scarr and Furio.

Following the bell, as Andros Jay looked to help his fellow teammates up, Furio, Scarr and Gray cornered the injured Andros Jay in the ring and looked set administer a beat down on the injured star. Luckily the fourth member of Enigmatic, Edin, was watching from the sidelines and was able to make the save with an impressive top rope cross body taking out Furio, Scarr and Gray. We are sure that this story is far from over!
And finally, after a night of excitment, controversy and emotion, we come to our main event and the final tournament match for the Genesis Professional Wrestling World title.

Final Bout - Leo Strong vs The Damned
The winner becomes the inaugural Genesis Professional Wrestling World Champion.

Both men had a very different route to this match, and both men more than earned the right to be here. The Damned, clearly fresher than Strong, took the fight to his larger opponent from the beginning. With action seen both inside and outside the ring. Both Strong and The Damned, gave everything they had in their arsenal's. With the crowd choosing sides early on and willing on the popular Leo Strong. However, it was the strength and experience of The Damned that won the night, hitting his Gunslinger and Fisherman Suplex for the 1,2,3 and becoming the first-ever Genesis Professional World Champion.
